- Pre-drilling: Often recommended, especially near the edges of the WPC boards, to prevent splitting. Use a drill bit slightly larger than the screw diameter. Countersinking the holes can also minimize chip build-up around the screw head.
- Screw Length: Ensure the screw is long enough to penetrate the WPC cladding and the underlying batten securely (typically 40-60mm depending on the materials).
- Screw Angle: Drive screws in at a 90-degree angle to the cladding surface for optimal holding power. Batten Material: The type of screw may also depend on whether you are fixing into timber, aluminum, or even WPC battens.
